By Christian Eichhorn (christian.eichhorn.dmg@gmail.com; @squirrelgolem), with editing by John Parker.
Death comes for all. Death comes in myriad, pitiless ways. The tip of a sword, the fall from a tree, the wild growth in the guts. After death, the suffering continues. Corroding purification in purgatory, followed by torture in hell or eternal loneliness in heaven.
Purgatory contains tons of "fun". What you'll find inside:
- Six classes (Fallen God, False Saint, Haunted Scapegrace, Pact Conjurer, Quack Doctor, and the Unversed Alchemist)
- Sacred and Unclean Skills. Consecrate, inject, flay... there's something for everybody to enjoy!
- A village generator, waystones to pray to, and a small adventure (the CVLT of the Knotted Snake)
- A small hex crawl campaign set in Purgatory. The realm every character ends up in who dies a meaningless death in a dying world.
Purgatory is an independent production by Christian Eichhorn and is not affiliated with Ockult Örtmästare Games or Stockholm Kartell. It is published under the MÖRK BORG Third Party License. MÖRK BORG is copyright Ockult Örtmästare Games and Stockholm Kartell.

Do the 'slim' versions of your modules cut out content, or do they just have denser graphic design?
There's some content cut out. In Purgatory, the d100 encounters and Karpyl Bridge aren't in the zine (and maybe something I'm forgetting, but pretty sure that's it). Most of the cut content ended up in the Refuse zine though (here)!
Ah! Thanks for the speedy reply! I'm definitely interested in picking up the physical zines now, especially now knowing that some of the cut content is in 'Refuse'. (I'd assume anything that still didn't make the cut for 'Refuse' was no longer up to your standards?)
I suppose follow up question for your other modules with trimmed content: anything major trimmed out that I'd be hurting for if I didn't have, or is it all mostly cutting-room floor stuff?
I think Apocrypha suffered the most in terms of missing fluff and art. But the hardcover is sold out, and only 50 copies still exist that might (hopefully) appear in the Kartellian Vaults store when it opens up again. But nothing major is missing from any.
Understood! Thanks again for the responses, excited to dive into your work!
I think almost everything cut is in Refuse besides a few encounters. I whittled it down from d100 (overland and city) encounters to d88. But I also gave everything a once-over. So that at the end of the day, the people who have the original hardcovers still have some special things and not just an inferior version (but it being a hardcover in of itself is also a plus I guess). :)
I would highly recommend any and all of Christian Eichhorn's Mörk Borg supplements - they all have fantastic layout and art, creative content that adds new systems and creative twists on existing ones, and capture the brutal and beautiful feel of the core book.
Purgatory is a great pick-up if you're looking to add some overall variety to your sessions, as it includes a wealth of new classes and skills, a Village Generator, and D100 Encounters. Like a few of Christian Eichhorn's offerings, Purgatory also includes a small Dungeon (Cult of the Knotted Snake), and campaign (Purgatory) with some fresh mechanics to mix things up.
